Perguntas Frequentes

  • How do I bring my hapeh back if it seems to be old, or the smell has changed?"
The best thing you can do to re-enliven your medicine is to put your hapeh in an open container and leave it in the sun for a couple of hours, stirring it occasionally. If you're in a rainy location another option is to preheat an oven to a low temperature then turn it off once its warm. You then put your medicine in and every five minutes take it out and stir it. Leave it in there for 20 minutes max, or until any strange smell has dissipated.
  • Do you source your medicines directly from indigenous people?
    Yes!
  • I am aware of the threat indigenous cultures of the Amazon and the Rainforest herself face. Is there another way I can help?
Well purchasing medicines is one of the best ways to keep these cultures alive because you are directing giving value to their culture and practices which is very empowering for them to keep going, instead of neceassarily putting them in a place of need. Sometimes money that is given to organizations is not thought out and can have harmful consequences. Not every organization knows how to direct money for a project that will preserve the culture of an ethnicity and strengthen them. Sometimes money is funded and put in one persons hand, which unfortunately doesn't always mean that everyone will benefit. Sometimes organizations will build a school, and teach them things from Western society which isn't actually an act of preservation to that ethnicity and can even further them down the path of losing their identity. Sometimes the funds will go towards westernized food rations which are extremely low in nutrition and destructive to the unaccostumed systems, but addictive, driving them further from living from hunting, gathering, and healthy agricultural practies in the forest. In 1550, when Brazil was occupied, around 1300 indigenous languages were spoken in the territory of Brazil, today the number is around 154. Before giving your money to help the Amazon, make sure to do your research and have discernement about how it will be applied.
